Merry Christmas to the Kitties!!
Hey There to all my fellow Crazy Cat Ladies!!!
Today’s post is dedicated to cool toys and accessories for your favorite cat(s)!
I have a little somethin’ somethin’ for everyone from kittens to seniors and price points from a bit high to extremely reasonable. Everything on this page is something my kids own and play with and have the Lolly and Buddy stamp of approval!
I know, we all know that at the end of the day this is what they would rather play with:
But if you have a feline of more discriminating tastes, here are a few things they may love!
Thermo Kitty Bed
The Thermo Kitty Bed is a WONDERFUL cat bed! It has a micro-fleece shell that the cats absolutely love and a heater element that fits inside the padded bottom. I’ve had this bed for almost 15 years. It’s survived five cats, hairballs, snarf and barfs, and too many rounds in the washing machine to count. The current owner of the bed is the many times Great Grandniece of my first Abyssinian.
The standard bed (pictured with my cats) comes in two sizes; small and large and two color choices – cream/sage or cream/mocha. There is also a Deluxe Thermo-Kitty Bed with a zip-off hood for a more cavelike feeling It comes in two sizes as well and two colors (mocha or tan) with pretty leopard spot micro-fleece material inside.
The best thing about this bed is its washability. The outside zips off so you can remove the foam core and throw the cover in the laundry. I’ve also washed the inside foam with no issues after one too many vomits.
The heating element has not needed replacement, the vinyl coating on it has no signs of age or wear. The K&H Thermo-kitty cat bed is virtually indestructible. The only reason I’m considering replacing my bed is that after 15 years, the sleeping pad at the bottom is getting a bit thin and worn and I’m hesitant at replacing materials close to the heating element myself.
Petmate Jackson Galaxy Butterfly in a Ball Cat Toy
Hours of fun had by all!!! Petmate Butterfly Ball
This video is from almost a year ago, and Buddy STILL plays with it!
Close up video of the Butterfly Ball.
Kitty Holster
I’ve had too many bad experiences with regular collars or harnesses on cats. They’ve slipped out of them, gotten tangled in them, hung up in bushes, etc. I was at wit’s end what to do about something that I could use to take my cats to the vet easily. The Kitty Holster turned out to be a Godsend. As it turned out, my disabled brother got a huge kick out of leash training the cats, but he has terrible arthritis, so having something with velcro helped him get the cat dressed. These jackets also fit snugly, so the cat is soothed by being wrapped up in it, much like a thunder blanket works for a dog. They come in numerous patterns and four sizes to fit most cats. Krazy K Farm also does custom orders.
Treats!!
My two cats are very treat motivated. Their current favorite treats are Kitty Cravings by Blue Buffalo and Temptations. Blue Buffalo is also offering an adorable stocking stuffer package for their chicken treats for the Holiday season.
Not spoiled at all:
Treat Dispenser
I know, cats view us as two-legged treat dispensers, but we can’t provide as much exercise as a Kong Cat Wobbler Treat Dispenser. Treat dispensers are a big hit in my household as long as they don’t give up their treats too readily. Well, they’re hits with me, Lolly would rather they just spew everything all at once. The Kong brand dispenser makes them work a little and provides a lot of play and exercise time.
The Red Dot!!!
From the tiniest kitten to our elder states-cats, the red dot is a perpetual winner!! This one is a handy take-anywhere keychain model … because you never know when you’ll find a cat who wants to play!
Refillable Catnip Toys
I love Kong products (in case you couldn’t tell), they are durable and long lasting. These refillable catnip toys are very durable, light, and lots of fun. Keep three or four fresh and filled in a Ziploc bag to bring out when boredom sets in.
The Best Christmas Present of ALL
There are hundreds of great programs and businesses out there who are selflessly dedicated to helping abandoned and feral cats. Instead of buying your kids more toys that they might never play with, please consider donating food or money to one of these wonderful programs. Please see my Instagram post with the same picture as above for a list of individuals and agencies who help cats on the street, in shelters, and in foster homes. They all have links in their profiles on how to help. Thank You!
Happy Holidays from my babies to yours!!
